Introducing Garry and Suzanne Lawrie

Friday, December 1, 2017

Hannaford welcomes Garry and Suzanne Lawrie as the new seed treatment specialist in the Auburn, Clare, Manoora and Burra areas.

Garry and Suzanne Lawrie have been involved in farming for over 40 years.

Since leaving school and working on the family farm at Smoky Bay on the South Australian West Coast, they’ve worked on and share farmed several farms in the region before buying a farm in 2002 near Karkoo on Lower Eyre Peninsula. Garry was also a shearer and shore throughout the state for several years.

Garry and Suzanne both enjoy meeting new people and catching up with old acquaintances to share life’s stories. Although they’re the first to say they’ve had quite a few challenges on their journey, they’re looking forward to the opportunity that Hannaford brings.

"We like the concept of the Hannaford system and look forward to offering the combination of Hannaford’s expertise and our own experience to make this venture a great result for everyone," said Garry.

"Having successfully run our own farm we know the importance of good communication and the value of good service."

Hannaford’s have provided the Lawrie’s with all the initial training they need, both on seed grading and product knowledge of their extensive seed treatment range.

"The fact Hannaford has had a great reputation with Australian farmers for over 90 years prompted us to embark on this exciting adventure with a company that has the training, knowledge, product range and know-how for us to provide a professional, reliable seed treating and grading service to farmers," said Garry. "We also have the added comfort of knowing that Hannaford’s support network is always only ever a phone call away to provide backup if required."

"We encourage farmers to take advantage of the Hannaford seed germination testing service this season, which is free for Hannaford customers," he said. "Just take a sample, ideally before you grade or treat, and we’ll check the viability of your seed for this year’s planting."

Garry and Suzanne look forward to assisting you with your seed grading and seed treatment needs this season.
